APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with more than 121,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members. APA is positioning our field to play a leading role in addressing the grand challenges of today and the future.

ICP is committed to promoting human rights, dignity and justice, and to strengthening collaboration among researchers, educators and applied professionals globally for the purpose of furthering international understanding and world peace. In 2016-7, the International Council of Psychologists, Inc.(ICP) celebrated its 75th year as a pioneering professional association.

The British Psychological Society is a registered charity which acts as the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK, and is responsible for the promotion of excellence and ethical practice in the science, education, and application of the discipline. As a society we support and enhance the development and application of psychology for the greater public good, setting high standards for research, education, and knowledge, and disseminating our knowledge to increase public awareness.


The European Community Psychology Association (ECPA) was founded out of the European Network of Community Psychologists. Main Goals of ECPA includes, Awareness of, education, training, and research, as well as practical applications, of community psychology in the general body of psychology, Critical debate of key issues in community psychology and related issues, Progressive influence of community psychology on practice and policy, Personal health, human development and social justice, Dismantling of disabling societal barriers and psychologically damaging contexts and practices.

Positive psychology is an exciting new field of inquiry that has captured the interest of thousands of researchers, practitioners, and students from around the world. This burgeoning area of psychology focuses on the study and practice of the positive emotions, strengths, and virtues that make individuals and institutions thrive. Since its inception in 1998, the field has seen an investment of tens of millions of dollars in research, the founding of several scientific journals, the development of masters, and Ph.D. programs in key universities, and reports in major news outlets (including cover stories in Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report). In addition, the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) has grown to thousands of members from more than 70 countries!

Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) is the only Academic and Professional Organization of Pakistani Psychologists. It was established in March 1968 at Dhaka, by a Convention specially called for this purpose. PPA has a membership of about several hundred qualified Pakistani Psychologists working in various fields of life including College and University Teaching, Clinical Practice, Counseling, Provincial and Federal Public Service Commissions Organizations, NGOs, Health departments and in the Armed Forces.

The Pakistan Psychological Society is committed to advance psychology as a discipline and profession. It spreads the message that psychologists make a difference and are dedicated to the betterment of community at large through improving scientific knowledge. Pakistan Psychological Society’s members form a dynamic group that advocate the need and rationale of psychologists at all levels of public enterprise. They strive to promote community’s well being, enhance peoples’ health and to contribute toward the socioeconomic growth of Pakistan. Pakistan is a developing nation. The role of psychologists for the social growth of society cannot be denied. Psychologists have been serving in different walks of Pakistani society contributing to the uplift of society and masses. The formation of a platform for psychologists of Pakistan is needed strongly. Pakistan Psychological Society is such an example.
