The Pakistan Association for the Advancement of science is the oldest and premier organization which was founded soon after establishment of Pakistan in 1947 and within its means (including Financial Resources) has contributed to a significant extant in development and promotion of science. Pakistan comprised of two wings i.e. West Pakistan and East Pakistan. Taking into consideration the long Distance between the two wings, two regional branches were established for frequent meetings of the scientists, one at Lahore(west wing) and the other at Dacca(the east wing) on 10th April 1948.

Proceedings of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, published since 1964, is quarterly journal of the Academy. It publishes original research papers and reviews in basic and applied sciences. All papers are peer reviewed. Authors are not required to be Fellows or Members of the Academy, or citizens of Pakistan.

PJM aims to publish original scientific research in all the fields of applied and climate atmospheric science. The journal provide exchange of ideas among working group of different disciplines within the country or abroad on the issues related to variations in atmosphere and climate. Each and every member of Editorial board is experienced in interdisciplinary approaches to research. They assure that the editorial expertise well match with the disciplines applied to submitted research papers. All the papers pass through peer review.The ultimate decision lies with the Editorial board whether to accept or reject the research paper.

Pakistan Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research, sponsored by the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, started publication in 1958, has been bifurcated in 2011, into two series. Now it has been published triannually as:

The Journal of Engineering & Applied Sciences is a biannual research journal published by the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. It publishes research articles that make an original and permanent contribution in all branches of engineering as well as related applied sciences and mathematics. It is an internationally refereed journal in the field of engineering with a tradition of disseminating high quality research since 1982.

NED University Journal of Research is the official journal of NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. Since 2013, this journal is published biannually in two sections, that is, structural mechanics and applied sciences. The journal welcomes high quality research in all disciplines of science and engineering and technology, including but not limited to civil engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, textile engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, biotechnology, nanotechnology and information technology.
