The Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) was established in 1950 with an aim to protect and promote the art of surgical instruments manufacturing and to help solving the problems of surgical manufacturing community. Surgical Association has 3900 members firms, more than 1,50,000 workers are grossly engaged in manufacturing of surgical instruments to meet the export commitments in the International Market. The value of export of surgical instruments for the financial year 2015-2016 is US$358.00 Million.

 

The Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) is a National representation association of Pediatricians of Pakistan. It has registered on 6th May, 1965 under the Societies Registration Act 1860 with the Provincial Assistant Registrar as a no profit welfare society. It's members are qualified pediatricians with at least a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) &/ or Membership or Fellowship of College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (MCPS, FCPS) or Royal Colleges of England/ Canada (MRCP,FRCP) or American Board of Pediatrics (DABP). The PPA has a national management committee called "Executive Committee of PPA (Center) has its permanent office at Karachi. 

National Institute of Health is one of the most prestigious institutions of the country involved in multi disciplinary public health related activities like diagnostic services, research and production of various vaccines for over 40 years. The idea of establishing a National Health Center (NHC) was conceived in early 1960’s, which started functioning in 1965 at Islamabad. Directorate of Nutrition Survey and some other health related research organizations were shifted to NHC. Later on, all these independently working departments were integrated and designated as National Health Laboratories (NHL – Islamabad).

Medical Laboratory Technologists Association of Pakistan (MLTAP) is the first professional and non-profit organization, representing dedicated laboratory professionals throughout the Pakistan. The mission of MLTAP is to advance professional growth and development of Clinical Laboratory Scientists, in the field of research and diagnostics through quality control and quality assurance, advance educational programs, informative programs, legislative representations and member services and to provide a platform of all medical technologists in all over the Pakistan to raise their issues and rights collectively. 

 

The Association acts as the common voice for companies operating in Pakistan medical devices, diagnostic products and health information systems. HDAP serves to represent the interests of its member companies in the delivery of innovative, life-changing technologies to patients. By uniting Pakistani medical devices stakeholders, (large and small), HDAP serves to amplify the voices and convey the interests of these innovative companies before state and federal legislatures and relevant regulatory authorities. HDAP would be horizontally divided into common groupings like legal Issues, Medical Device Regulatory Issues Tax Issues, Export Related Issues common to all vertical groups of different families of product lines with authorized Representations. 

 

Pakistan Health Research Council, formerly known as the Pakistan Medical Research Council is an autonomous research agency of Government of Pakistan under the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination in the field of medical and health sciences. It was established in 1962. 

The Pharmaceutical Industry is a human Industry – an industry which caters to the health of public and is therefore of significant importance. As such, the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association came into existence on January 26, 1961 and the Government of Pakistan through the Ministry of Commerce registered PPMA as the only Representative body of the Pharmaceutical Industry in the Country. The Government issued a License to this effect under Section 26 of the Companies Act, 1913 on July 18, 1961. The Association was formally incorporated under the Companies Act, 1913 by the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies.

Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) was established in Oct, 1979. Since its inception PIMA has been striving to achieve its goals in professional and training of doctors, calling its members and associates towards Islamic way of life through its regular Dawah and training workshops and seminars. PIMA played a significant role in enrichment of professional skills through regular hands on workshops to meet the requirements of the country in particular and of international community during wars, disaster and peace. PIMA relief remained always on the fore fronts during National and international disasters like earth quacks, Tsunami, Floods, Cyclones and wars. PIMA has established medical institutions of international repute contributing in quality medical, dental and allied specialties.


Pakistan Association of Medical Editors is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization whose mission is to support and promote medical journalism in Pakistan by fostering networking, education, discussion, and exchange of information and knowledge. The Association should be an authoritative resource on current and emerging issues in the communication of scientific information.
