  E-Databases (On-Campus Resources)

UMT library has subscriptions to various electronic and online digital resources to provide access to wide range of online collections related to various academic disciplines. Many publications are being made available through this facility to provide access to e-databases of more than 14000 peer reviewed leading international journals. Users must use these resources under copyright laws. For further details/help regarding any problem encountered in accessing these databases, you may contact library officials through email at [email protected], call at ext. 3565 or visit library helpdesk.

How to search these databases?

There are two options to search your article/information in these subscribed databases.

  1. Federated search – a one window platform (Summon) that searches all databases simultaneously. Click here to use this     search option.

  2. Individual database search – Open any particular database of your choice from following list and search in it.

 

 OVID 

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) started in 1792 and has a long history as a leading international publisher with a singular focus and strength in medicine, nursing and health. It provides professional information resources for physicians, nurses, specialized clinicians and students. It publishes over 275 journals, newsletters and loose-leaf products, including many of the industry’s most respected titles. It is the publishing partner to more than 60 pre-eminent medical societies and offers high quality content and expert capabilities in editorial innovation.

 Aerospace Research Central (Library Only) 

 The Aerospace Research Central is a vast collection aerospace technology. It covers a broad range of Aircraft, Aerospace and Aircraft Technology. Researchers may benifitfrom the following two journals of this database.

 Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) (Campus Wide)
  • The ACM contains full-text from 28 ACM Journals and Transactions, 10 ACM Magazines, over 40 ACM Special Interest Newsletters, 15 non-ACM journal and publications and over 100 annual conference proceedings.
  • Content strengths include all areas of Information Technology, with full archival content for all ACM publications.
 ASTM International (Campus Wide)
 The ASTM Standards & Engineering Digital Library is a vast collection of industry-leading standards and technical engineering information. It covers a broad range of engineering disciplines, including aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, environmental, geological, health and safety, industrial, materials science, mechanical, nuclear, petroleum, soil science and solar engineering.
Cambridge Journals (Campus Wide)
 Cambridge University Press’s collection of nearly 209 leading journal titles in Linguistics, Politics, Medicine, Science, Technology, Social Science and Humanities.
Emeralds (Campus Wide)
Emerald is a long established publisher with over 200 titles in the fields of management, information science and engineering. All of Emerald research journals are peer-reviewed to ensure the highest quality. HEC has provided access to 150 of the total journal titles. You can view by clicking @ Journals Listing.  
 HeinOnline 

HeinOnline is a premier online database containing more than 190 million pages and 295,000 titles of historical and government documents in a fully searchable, image-based format. HeinOnline bridges an important research gap by providing comprehensive coverage from inception of more than 2,900 law-related periodicals. In addition to its vast collection of academic journals, HeinOnline contains the entire Congressional Record, Federal Register, and Code of Federal Regulations, complete coverage of the U.S. Reports back to 1754, and entire databases dedicated to treaties, constitutions, case law, world trials, classic treatises, international trade, foreign relations, U.S. Presidents, and much more.

IEEEXplore (Campus Wide)
 Provides full-text access to 132 IEEE and 45 IEE journals, magazines, transactions and conference proceedings as well as active IEEE standards.
 IMF e Library (Campus Wide) 
 The International Monetary Fund's (IMF) eLibrary simplifies analysis and research with direct access to the IMF’s periodicals, books, working papers and studies, and data and statistical tools. You will find information and perspective on macroeconomics, globalization, development, trade and aid, technical assistance, demographics, emerging markets, policy advice, poverty reduction, and so much more.
JSTOR (Campus Wide)
 JSTOR offers a high-quality, interdisciplinary archive to support scholarship and teaching. It includes archives of over 1000 leading core scholarly journals covering Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Language, Law, Religion, Philosophy, Anthropology, History, Geography, Biological Sciences, Political Sciences and Education, as well as selected monographs and other valuable materials. The entire corpus is full-text searchable. Key Features of JSTOR are: 1. More than 1,000 journal titles, 2. More than 4,000 participants, 3. More than 4 million articles, 4. More than 21 million pages, 5. Starts from volume 1 of each journal, 6. Issues scanned cover to cover.
Pakistan Lawsite (Library Only)
 This resource ensemble the idea of LAW ONLINE. This is a one-stop resource site for statutes, rules, and cases relating to Pakistan. This site is one of its kind and houses all the federal and provincial statutes and cases related to these statutes. Taxation, service, copyright, estate planning, labour and all kinds of fiscal statutes are covered in this site. Moreover, there are more than 1200 essays and writing and other legal documents available here. It also houses all the journals of PLD publishers including PLD, SCMR, CLC, PCrLJ, PTD, PLC CLD and YLR.

SpringerLink (Campus Wide)
 Over two thousand journals on computer science, mathematics, physics and astronomy, life sciences, chemical sciences, medicine, engineering, geosciences, environmental sciences, law and economics.
Taylor & Francis Journals (Campus Wide)
 Taylor & Francis has grown rapidly over the last two decades to become a leading international academic publisher. More than 1000 journal titles in a full range of disciplines are included in this online collection. 
University of Chicago Press (Campus Wide)
 Chicago Journals Online is a searchable online portal to vital scholarship ranging from the latest research in a wide range of subjects to historical content dating from the founding of the University of Chicago Press in 1892. The redesigned Chicago Journals Online offers key features such as e-TOC alerts by e-mail or RSS and publish-when-ready articles before print publication. The UCP publishes nearly fifty scholarly journals and annuals, many on behalf of some of the world's most prestigious societies.
 Wiley Online Library(Campus Wide)
 Wiley Online Library hosts over 1400 journals, including all titles formerly offered on Blackwell Synergy. It provides combined full text access from Wiley InterScience and Balckwell journals in life sciences, medicine/health, ecology, accountancy, finance, economics, chemistry, cultural studies (especially Asian studies, African studies, Australian studies, and international studies), development issues, education, engineering, humanities and social sciences, life sciences, management studies, mathematics and statistics, and medical, veterinary and health sciences.  Open Access Journals
 Open-access literature is digital literature that is available on the web, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. Committing to open access requires dispensing with the financial, technical and legal barriers that are designed to limit access to scientific research articles to paying customers.The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.
